Opinions Are Like Noses...We All Have Ours; KEEP YOURS!

My Grandchild,

In the final analysis everything is about someone’s opinion. You are worthless! You are wise! You are beautiful! You are strong! You are weak...It’s all opinions; how others see you. I want to have sex with you! I want to marry you! You should be a model! I can make you happy! I will show you hell! It is all their opinions...

Then we have YOU and your opinions. How do you see yourself? What are your deepest innermost convictions and opinion about who you really are? Worthless? Wise? Beautiful? Strong? Weak? Do you want to be a model? Do you want to have sex with him? Can you be happy with her? Is there any hell she can show you? Now that is YOUR opinion.

It is a simple tag of war. We are all pulling the other's opinion down, that ours may prevail, deliberately or innocently. They are not absolutely right with their opinions about you, neither are you always right about your opinion of yourself. But when you sleep at night, whose voice shouts louder in your ears; yours or theirs? When you walk down the streets, whose voice inspires you the most; yours or theirs?

You might stumble following one opinion or the other, yours or theirs; but better stumble in your opinions and convictions than to stumble in someone’s. At least you fell exercising your God given capability – To be opinionated, to be convicted in it and to walk therein. That is the fundamental attribute of real free men!

A note of caution – you can be a fool and be convicted that you are wise; it is also an opinion. If there is therefore any prayer to pray when you go to bed at night, pray that He who makes the voice speaks in your head, will also let the same reveal your true identity to you so you are not lead astray in the end.

With Love

The Voice Inside Your Head....

My Grandchild,

Your Conviction! The only true dependable voice you have whether you are doing something right or wrong, when to stop or continue, act or be inactive. In the midst of all the boom bam bang noise and chaos of life; everyone pushing their opinions around, the last voice you want to see drowned is the voice inside your head. You Can't have it silenced! When do you'll start living in another man's impression of the world.

A Little Respect For The Nothings

My Grandchild,

We are all interdependent on each other, we must remind ourselves. We will need the cleaner to do our dirty we-could-have-done-it-our-selves-but-for-our-laziness job for us; The security guy is, so we can sleep in peace. your house-help who smells like food is, so your husband can get supper to eat when you forget the way to the kitchen...Respect, people...respect; let's show it to those who appear lower than us.

Lingering Doubts!

My Grandchild,

One great affliction you can cause yourself is to allow the doubts people have about you to linger and go unattended. If your loved ones, partners, friends, colleagues and people of relevance find certain aspects of your life doubtful, you must deal with it without delay.Trust and integrity are rare commodities these days you wanna hold on to yours! People can't just be ignored, You can't care less; deal with it!

My Grandson,

The light that burns twice as bright burns half as long. Don't be quick to burn bright, desire to burn long...better it is to outlast the competition than to drop dead in the brightness of your glory. Life is longer than a hundred meter race and you need unfailing stamina not lightning speed

Your Granny,

Adwoa Mercy.
My Grandson,

I agree I don't have the formula; the equation just won't balance. I don't know what's missing but I know my mortality & fallibility are my limitations. Today, I cast it all into His hands; ALL as in ALL. I want to sleep soundly through out the night, walk lightly thru the day and laugh freely. If He so freely gave me His only Begotten Son, when I yet knew Him not, what else will He keep from me? Still, I trust.

Your Granny,

Adwoa Mercy
My Grandson,

No one serving as a soldier gets entangled in civilian affairs, but rather tries to please his commanding officer. Similarly, anyone who competes as an athlete does not receive the victor’s crown except by competing according to the rules. [2Tim 2] I think a lot of us are wasting our time pretending to be running for God yet running with our own rules and not His Rules for the Race. We all risk being disqualified...

Your Granny,

Adwoa Mercy
My Grandson,

Our faith must not be operated like a Suburban African operating an iPhone 4 – Making & receiving calls. Your faith should not be limited to your knowledge of God's existence. There is more it can do. There are mountains to be moved; barriers to overthrow; seas to be part; Lions' mouths to be shut, lives to save. Let's change the gears cus I can't stand to accept they couldn't find my faith under the Microscope!

Your Granny,

Adwoa Mercy
My Grandson,

Do not confuse those you love with those who can do the job. Everyone should be measured objectively according to their capabilities. Jesus loved John and committed His mother to him, as well as the endtime revelation. However, He needed a strong man, Peter, to build a formidable and eternal church for Him. Can we say as individuals we fail because we cannot draw this line?

Your Granny,

Adwoa Mercy
My Grandson,

If you lose your stance on a matter and give up on your convictions someone will come and push you over. You can only give up to the voice of sound wisdom and not the voice of popular unproven views. In a world where everyone thinks they are right, your best companion is your gut instincts. Better to die in your convictions than to die thru someone's opinion after they forced you to give up on your convictions.

Your Granny,

Every great Craftsman has a different tool for each stage of his work. There are some tools you will never know what they are for until they are put to use. When your life and innermost desires seem void and without form, remember he who has began a good thing in you know what he is doing and he has a tool ready for each stage of your life. Cheer up, you will come out perfectly fine...Still trusting...

Your Granny,

Adwoa Mercy
My Grandson,

Ask yourself; is this the best wine? Cus it will be sad to get drunk on cheap wine while the best is yet to be served...Life is like that; You are likely to weary yourself on the worthless things...before the best is revealed...Patience is a virtue...Pray for it...God we need it...

My Grandson

Lessons from the Japanese earthquake:

In one day you stand grounded and firm, the next moment the foundation of your life is shaken so badly everything comes crushing down. Some recover but at a great cost, like Japan; others never really recover, like Haiti. GOD is our firm foundation. Bless are those who build their lives upon him; yea the convulsions of nature will come and pass them by leaving them unbruised.

Don't struggle to belong; if you do not fit in just leave. That in itself puts premium on you. Lot of people today are struggling to belong: struggling to please, licking boots in the process, losing their true selves; struggling to be loved by people around them. After giving your best, don't lose your breath and faint trying to conjure what is beyond you. Just leave, but first...give your best

Above all, desire that your home will be A place where you find respite after life has battered and wearied you. Desire that when the raving and ranting of the world around you drive you to the edge, your home will be a place where your sanity would be enticed back and given enough reason to stay with you. Pray and work for peace with your kids and partner. You can ask the homeless how they are coping.

I took the news this morning with a great shock I nearly lost my balance...Gradually as it sank in I realised it was true and I needed to accept it... it is with much great pain that I announce to you that MORALITY HAS FALLEN INTO COMA and the doctors are saying it is life threatening because of his age...Let us take time to pray for him cus if he dies...Our society will go down with him.

Adwoa Mercy
My Grandson...

Petty demons harrassing us, simple solvable situations scaring us and bringing out the worse in us. When Jesus was our age, He was taking authority over life and everything in it; He went about healing, preaching and doing good. How can we be called Christians when we are not Christlike? Look around you, the harvest is ripe...the laborers are yet few. What are we doing for the rest of our lives?

Adwoa Mercy
My Grandson...

LIfe is in seasons and God operates in seasons. Your tears and queries won't change how God operates. When we know the seasons we know how to prepare ourselves to face them. But God's mercies and operations are such that He gives grace to sustain us from one season to another. Be wise when riches, love, peace etc abound so that you won't see total lack when their lean seasons come.

Adwoa Mercy
My Gandson

You have greatness embedded in you; dip in and draw it out. Being different and outstanding should not be in your head and on your tongue; that will be your own conceit. Being thus, should be perceived and felt by those around you. Let the burden of proof and testimony of your greatness be on others not on your goodself.

Adwoa Mercy

My grandson...

Not all the glittery is Golden; not all the grandiose is lasting. They say don't mind the body, mind the engine; what is the use of having a wooow car that keeps breaking down in traffic? Why have a trophy partner who give you fire and brimstone in the home? Why have a grand job that is tearing you apart from yourself, your family and God. Truly in life, mind what is under the bonnet...not gizmos you see.
